The Doberman Pinscher originates from Germany in the late 1800′s. The Doberman Pinscher became very popular after it’s first showing in the year of 1876.

It was a man by the name of Louis Dobermann who cross bread different types of dogs such as the Greyhound, Rottweiler and other various Pinscher breeds to develop this wonderful breed of the Doberman Pinscher.

Doberman Pinschers are a low maintenance dog and doesn’t do a whole lot of shedding like many other breeds do. They have a short wirey coat that’s very shiny and easy to maintain.

The average weight for a Doberman is anywhere from 65-90 lbs. This breed has a life expectancy of up to 13 years. The Doberman Pinscher has quite a bit of energy so it’s important they get the proper amount of exercise to keep them from becoming destructive out of boredom.

The Doberman Pinscher is a very intelligent and courageous dog but they don’t have aggressive tendencies. They are devoted and loyal to their family. It comes naturally to a Doberman Pinscher to guard and protect their family.
