Rafael Nadal began his career as a tennis player at a the tender age of three, introduced to his first racket by his uncle Toni Nadal, a former tennis player. At age 19 he won the French Open the first time he played it. He won an an Olympic gold medal in 2008. He founded The Rafa Nadal Foundation that same year to focus on development aid for at-risk children in Spain.
