The Renault Pulse, essentially a Nissan Micra with a more aggressive face will see the light of the day in the Renault India stall during the exhibition. Even before the car is officially launched, Renault dealers have already begun accepting bookings for the car. The car was first unveiled during the sidelines of the inaugural Indian F1 Grand Prix held in 2011. The dealers claim that the first batch of demo cars will be reaching the dealerships this week.
The Renault Pulse, in India, will be sold in both petrol and diesel variants. The Renault Pulse petrol would feature a 1.2 L petrol engine and the diesel Pulse would have 1.5 L diesel engines. Coincidentally, these engines are the very same engines doing duty in Nissan Micra. The engine is well acclaimed for its superb drivability with minimal turbo lag and high fuel economy.
The Renault Pulse, as we had mentioned earlier, is an exact replica of the Nissan Mica expect for the grille, as the Renault Pulse would feature Renault’s diamond logo on it. Both Renault Pulse and Nissan Micra share the same V-platform that Renault and Nissan have jointly developed.
We expect Renault India to price the Renault Pulse very competitively. The price of the Renault Pulse might be between 4.25 lakh onwards to for the petrol version and around 50k more on the diesel version above the petrol Pulse prices.
What is to be seen is how brand engineering works in India with the launch of the Renault Pulse. Stay put with this page until we bring in more juicy details of the car and other launches during the Delhi Auto Expo.
